At the heart of Camphill lies a spirit of care for one another, for the earth, and for the things we create together. In the cosmetics workshop, this spirit comes to life every day through the gentle rhythm of our work and the joy of creating something beautiful with our hands.

In the workshop we make a wide range of natural products, from soothing soaps and nourishing lotions to body oils. Each one is made with love and attention, using ingredients that come straight from nature. Our lavender, chamomile, calendula, rose, rosemary, tea-tree, and neroli oils fill the workshop with their calming scents and remind us how closely we are connected to the land.

One of the treasures of our community is our 8-hectare jojoba plantation. Throughout the year, we tend the plants carefully, and when harvest time comes we pick the beans by hand. The oil we press from them forms the base of many of our cosmetics, a true gift from our land. There’s something deeply satisfying about knowing that what we make here begins in the soil beneath our feet.

In the workshop, everyone has a part to play. Some of us mix and pour, some label and package, others clean and prepare materials. Together, we create something that is more than just soap or lotion. It’s a reflection of our shared effort, friendship, and the meaningful work that gives life its rhythm and purpose.

At the heart of Camphill is not just a place, but a feeling, a way of working and living that celebrates beauty, connection, and care. In every bar of soap and every drop of oil, you can find a little piece of that heart.
